Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State, on Wednesday, during a radio programme in Kaduna, said that only God and President Muhammadu Buhari can decide if he is going to re-contest the 2019 governorship election.
According to El-Rufai, when he completed his federal assignment as a minister, another government had offered to appoint him as a minister again, but he however rejected and said he was done with being a minister.
He noted that it was the president who asked him to contest for the position of Kaduna State Governor.
“If the president come and meet me and said I want you to re-contest or otherwise, I have no option than to obey his command.
“Afterall, in 2014 or thereabout, I had my own plans before the President asked me to contest the exalted position of the governor and the rest is now history.
He also vehemently denied assertions that the Kaduna State Government received grants from Melinda Gates for some of the projects being executed in Kaduna State.
“We have not only cut cost in governance but we have saved to carry out these projects.
“We were not reckless in our spending but we are very meticulous and prudent in our finances. Your money is safe.” He added
He revealed also that his administration has many programmes for youths and that qualified youths would be recruited into the Kaduna State Civil Service.
