You accused Dasuki in the public, but you want to try him secretly. What are you hiding? This is satanic – Fayose tells Federal Government

Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), the former National Security Adviser

Ayodele Fayose, the Governor of Ekiti State and the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, has described as satanic and a mockery of democracy, the attempt by the Federal Government to use witness wearing mask to testify against the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

According to Fayose, it is obvious that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government have something to hide on the travails of Dasuki.

He urged Nigerians to question why the Federal Government was afraid of trying Dasuki in the public for everybody to witness.

He further challenged the APC-led Federal Government to allow the trial of Dasuki on National TV so that everyone can actually know how the former NSA stole $2.1billion arms money and also so that he can defend himself in the public.

According to the statement released by the governor’s aide, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said that;

“Since the names of the would-be prosecution witnesses have already been made public, what agenda is the Federal Government pursing by insisting that its witnesses be given protection by the court by not allowing their names and addresses to be made public in the course of the trial.

“You accused someone of corruption in the market place and the person you accused is saying he wants to defend himself in the market place too, but you, the complainant, is insisting that the accused person must be tried in your bedroom, I think someone is trying to hide something?”

“They want Nnamdi Kanu tried secretly. They also want the former Col. Dasuki (rtd) tried secretly. What are they afraid of? How is the defence counsel going to cross-examine masked witnesses when their real identities cannot be ascertained? Why are the witnesses afraid to testify in an open court if truly they are witnesses of truth?

“Obviously, this is satanic. It is against all democratic norms and Nigerians must rise against it.” He noted.
