Ademola Adeleke dumps APC for PDP ahead of Osun West Senatorial District bye-election

Mr. Ademola Adeleke, the younger brother to late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, on Wednesday dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the Osun State Primaries for the Osun West Senatorial District.

He withdrew from the race and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the party’s spokesman, Kunle Ayatomi, Adeleke submitted a letter to announce his intention this morning.

“The process has already started this morning when (Adeleke) brought a letter announcing his withdrawal from the race,” he said.

“But the process has already started and we cannot stop it, and so for us he is still contesting.”

Mr. Adeleke would however contest the election unopposed as every other PDP contestants agreed to step down for him.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed July 8, 2017, for the bye-election to replace the vacant seat left by the death of late Senator Adeleke.
