The ruling All Progressives Congress legal team in Kano State has expressed readiness to defend the victory of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
1Push Naija had in March reported how Ganduje was declared winner of the governorship poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following a controversial supplementary election in the state.
“As a member of the legal team of the APC and spokesman of the Team, we received a copy of an order in respect of the permission granted to the PDP to inspect the election materials, which is in order,” Ma’aruf Mohammed-Yakasai, the spokesman of the Kano APC legal team said.
“The court served us with the copy of the order and as the court directed, we will be there to observe and be part of the process,” he added.
Justice Halima Shamaki, the Chairman of the Kano State Tribunal, had ordered INEC to allow PDP inspect the election materials used for the poll.
Mohammed-Yakasai further alleged that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, had no threat to pose against the victory of Governor Ganduje.
