Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, in an audio, allegedly admitted giving money to some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the Rivers Rerun election for him.
According to the audio published by Sahara Reporters, an electoral officer was heard telling Governor Wike that the INEC officials were being intimidated from doing what he paid them to do.
“Intimidation by who now,” Wike was reportedly heard asking
“Ikwerre did it, they couldn’t even do anything,” he added
“They should return what they gave them or I will kill them,” governor Wike reportedly said.

The Saturday December 10 Rivers Rerun Election was spoiled with violence. Many lost their lives on that day including a Deputy Police Superintendent.
According to reports, security agents, including the Army, DSS, Police and SARS were bias and evidently supported a particular party.
Some of the voters where ballot boxes were snatched testified that security operatives didn’t want them to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
