Benue APC leader, George Akume, loses senate election

APC Stakeholders from Benue State led by Senator George Akume, at the State House, Abuja

Senator George Akume, the lawmaker representing Benue North-West Senatorial District, has lost his re-election bid to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Orker Jev, a member of the National House of Representatives, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defeated Akume, who is the incumbent senator representing the district.

Jev got a total of 157,726 votes to defeat Akume who got 115,422 votes.
