Boko Haram in a recent attack killed a unit commander and many other soldiers as they allegedly overran their battalion in Borno

Nigerian soldiers attack Boko Haram camp in Sambisa Forest, North East Nigeria.

The Boko Haram terrorist group on Sunday reportedly overran a Nigerian Army battalion, 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State, killing the unit commander, a lieutenant colonel, and many soldiers.

According to reports, the terrorists took away arms, ammunitions and other military equipments during the attack which occurred around 6pm on that day.

The same 157 battalion was on October 8 raided by the terrorist, an attack which led to the death of about 18 soldiers and 8 others wounded.

On Saturday, just a day before this recent attack, the terrorists attacked the base of Sector 2 troops in Mainok, Kaga Local Government Area, leaving at least a soldier dead and many others injured.

The military has with no doubt recorded tremendous gains in its fight against the terrorists over the past 3 years, but the sect has so far left hundreds (especially soldiers) dead since it resumed attack.
