Mr. Adebayo Shittu, the Minister of Communication, recently declared that he will work against the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
Adebayo Adelabu picked up the APC ticket to contest the election in February, while Shittu was disqualified by the APC National Working Committee over allegations raised against him for not serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Mr. Shittu who spoke during a media chat in Abuja vowed that there won’t be peace in the APC.
He further accused the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, and the Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, of being behind his disqualification from contesting the governorship primary election in his state.
Shittu is another political heavyweight in the APC who had vowed to ensure the APC candidates in their states does not emerged as governors in 2019.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State had since vowed to work against the APC governorship candidates in their respective states.
The APC National Working Committee had however raised a Peace and Reconciliation Committee for each of the 6 geopolitical zones to reconcile aggrieved members of the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
