1. Prince Uche Secondus, the former National Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said that nobody is imposing him as their candidate for the party’s national chairmanship position.

2. An Abuja Federal High Court has declared the suspension of Senate Ali Ndume by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria illegal and unconstitutional. The ruling was delivered by Justice Babatunde Quadri on Friday.

3. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State, marries off his daughter, Fatima Umar Ganduje, to the son of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Idris Ajimobi. About 12 serving governors including  Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, Adulfatah Ahmad of Kwara state. Bello Masari of Katsina state, Mohammed Abubakar Badaru Jigawa, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Sokoko, Abdal’aziz Abubakar Yari of Zamfara state as well as the governor of Borno state Kashim Shettima attended the event.

4. The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) says that the teachers’ competence test of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State is a smoke screen, adding that it’s a hidden agenda to reduce the state workforce.
