The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that it has begun the process for extraditing a former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, from the United Kingdom.
Mr. Tony Orilade, the acting spokesman of the anti-graft agency, revealed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
According to him, the EFCC Operations Department has already made presentation to the Legal Department for the process to start, and it had already stated.
He added that the action had to be processed through the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami.
“It is ongoing. Within the next few weeks, the extent to which we have gone will be made known to the public.
“It is not a fresh case; it is not a fresh petition that is just being looked into; the whole process is a total package.
“This extradition is just an aspect of Deziani’s investigation and commencement of trial,” he said.
