Ex-CDS Alex Badeh buried on Wednesday at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja

Air Chief Marshal, Alex Badeh (rtd), a former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)

Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, a former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), who was murdered on December 18, 2018, was on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.

Badeh who served as CDS under the administration of Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan was killed by unidentified gunmen along the Keffi-Abuja Expressway while returning from his farm.

Mr. Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), led other top dignitaries to lay wreaths at his grave.

Others who were at Badeh’s burial were; Chief of Defence Staff, Abayomi Olonisakin; the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai; the Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ette Ibas; the Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar; the Minister of Defence was represented by Nuratu Batagarawa, the permanent secretary in the ministry.

Former CDS Oluseyi Petirin and former CAS, Azubuike Ihejirika, attended his burial.

The Governors of Adamawa and Plateau States, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa and the Deputy Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly were also at the burial.

Late Badeh’s widow, Mary, was also present at the burial of her husband.

He was buried after prayer by Group Captain DB Gani, the Director of the Air Force Chaplaincy.

Badeh is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
