The Presidency on Tuesday said that it was not among those that delegated the governors who will visit President Muhammadu Buhari in London. It noted that it was solely handled by the Nigerian Governors Forum.
The delegation led by the Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, included, Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, Umar Gandoje of Kano State, Kassim Shettima of Borno State, the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Abiola Ajumobi of Oyo state.
The Presidency also added that it cannot say when President Muhammadu Buhari will return home but only the president’s medical team can.
The Spokesman to President Buhari while answering question on why Governor Ayodele Fayose was not among the delegation, he noted that the presidency has no hand in the selection of the delegates to London.
“The selection was by the governors forum and you will see that the delegation is headed by governor Yari who is chairman of that forum. So that question should go to the forum.” He said
Adesina said that the reason why Buhari is currently receiving visitors is because he is currently recovering and it is the best time to receive visitors.
“Instead of being curious, it should be the right time for the visit. When somebody has recovered or something has happened, it’s in our culture to visit such a person. So, this is the right time to visit the president because the news is that he is recovering and recovering well.” He said
He however contrarily to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State who said the president would return in 2 weeks, could not say when Buhari will return. He insisted that only the president’s doctors could determine that.
