Federal University of Technology Owerri Futo

The management of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State has confirmed that the 3 boys out of the 4 students involved in a group s*x at the school lodge were its students.

The Police Command in Owerri had reported the death of the 3 boys last week.

2 of the boys were found dead already at the scene of the event, while the other boy was rushed to the hospital alongside the girl.

The boy however died at the hospital, leaving the girl as the only survival.

The death of the boys is believed to be connected to the drugs they apparently took before the act. Police had recovered tramadol and Indian hemp at the scene.

Uche Nwelue, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, revealed that after investigation, it was confirmed that the 3 male students (Ugochukwu Kingsley, Richard, Aka Uche) were FUTO students, while the girl (Onyinyechi Okafor) is a student of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede.

“I can now confirm to you that all the three boys, who took part in the alleged s*x incident after an alleged drug overdose, were students of the university.

“The only female among them is not our student; she is from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede. That is the true situation of things as it concerns the studentship of the victims.”

“The university is actually handicapped as it relates to this matter,” she said when asked what the university would do about the matter.

“The incident happened outside of the campus of the university. We do not have control over their lifestyle outside the campus. Moreover, the school has rules and regulations guarding every student here.

“If any of them breaks it, we will punish him/her once he/she comes back to school. But beyond this, parents should watch their children and encourage them to live in hostels on the campus. It will make them to be more serious and dedicated to their studies.”
