“Mastermind of alleged planned overthrow of Buhari arrested”

The Department of State Services (DSS), yesterday in a statement said it arrested a leader of a deadly militant group, the Joint Revolutionary Council of the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF).

Jones Abari (aka Gen. Akotebe Darikoro), who among other things masterminded the alleged overthrow of President Muhammadu Buhari, was arrested on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

According to the DSS, as seen on Vanguard, he (Gen. Darikoro) has confessed to the crime and other crimes which includes threat to launch missile in Aso Rock.


“Some missing Nigerian soldiers found after Boko Haram ambush – Army”

In a recent statement yesterday by the Nigerian Army through its spokesman Col. Sani Usman, he said that five (5) soldiers who were declared missing in last Wednesday’s ambush in Borno State have been found.

They were found early yesterday morning by the troops on search and rescue operation deployed by the Army.


“Boy, 9, chained by pastor father speaks: ‘I don’t want to go back to my father, nobody gave me food’”

The nine (9) old boy, Korede Taiwo, who has being under his father’s chains for over a month for stealing and was recently recued by the men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps said he doesn’t want to go back to his father’s house.

‘‘I was not fed regularly when I was chained. My father and my step-mother only fed me twice a day. Some days, I was not given any food. I want to go back to school because I want to be a doctor in the future. I also do not want to go back to my father’s house.’’ He said.
