1. The Federal Government has dropped its N5billion corruption case against Senator Danjuma Goje.
The decision to drop the case came following an apparent deal with President Muhammadu Buhari for Goje to step down for Senator Ahmed Lawan to emerge as President of the Senate,
The Federal High Court in Jos on Friday cancelled the corruption case against Goje and the judge, Justice Babatunde Quadri, ruled that the senator is discharged and acquitted of the corruption charges against him.

2. The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the House Minority Leader, Ndidi Elumelu, and six others following their emergence as minority leaders in the National House of Representatives.
Naija Buzz News reported how the Speaker of the National House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, ignored the choices of the PDP and declared Elumelu and his group minority leaders in the lower chamber.
Elumelu and his other colleagues (including the Deputy Minority Leader) were consequently suspended for indiscipline, insubordination and disobedience to the party’s decision. Read more to see the other PDP members who were suspended by the party.
3. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted the Indirect Primary option to pick its candidate ahead of the November Governorship Election in Kogi State.
The National Working Committee of the party had after a meeting on Friday at the APC National Headquarters picked the option to select its flag bearer for the forthcoming election in the state.
Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, after the meeting revealed that the NWC approved the indirect primary option following a request from the Kogi State APC executives and stakeholders. Read more
4. Ahmed Iliyasu, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, has revealed three (3) persons suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist group.
The suspects who were arrested by the Kano State Police Command at different locations were paraded at the command on Friday.
According to the Police Commissioner, one of the suspects was arrested at a hotel in the Sabon Gari area of Kano. He was on his way to Adamawa State, North-East Nigeria when he decided to stopover in Kano where he was eventually arrested. Read more
