Nigerian Army Task Force kills 5 suspected attackers of Ancha village in Plateau State

Adamu Umar, the media officer of the Special Task Force on Jos crisis, tagged Operation Safe Heaven, on Monday said that the suspected perpetrators of the recent killings in Plateau State have been killed.

The Special Task Force said that it shot and killed five persons suspected to be assailants who attacked and killed 19 persons in Ancha village located in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Umar, who is a captain in the Nigerian Army, however added that, “Apart from the five persons that were killed by our men, some were injured.”

He stated further that one member of the task force died while another was injured but was responding to treatment.

He noted that the entire Ancha village is still being patrolled day and night by the members of the task force.

The attack in the village by suspected herdsmen was reportedly in retaliation for the death of a Fulani boy.
