President Muhammadu Buhari meets his new SGF, Boss Mustapha, at the Presidential Villa

1.Despite the huge N64million spent by the Federal Government to upgrade the website of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,, the names of five former ministers are still listed as members of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

Boss Mustapha, the SGF, had in May 2018 unveiled the N64million website.

Former ministers including Kemi Adeosun, (Finance); Kayode Fayemi, (Solid Minerals Development); Aisha Al-Hassan, (Women Affairs and Social Development); Khadija Abba-Ibrahim, (Minister of State for Foreign Affairs); and Ibrahim Jibril, (Minister of State for Environment), are all still on the list of Buhari’s cabinet members.

2. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised an alarm over the life of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP governorship candidate in Osun State.

Kola Ologbodiyan, the spokesman of the PDP, alleged that the APC having realized they could not stop Adeleke from retrieving his mandate were trying to eliminate him.

“Part of the plot is to frame and arrest the principal of Ede Muslim High School, Ede, Mr Kadili Abass, on trump-up charges that Adeleke’s school testimonial was forged, with the aim of using such fabrication as a basis to smear and clamp down on Adeleke.

3.The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) have berated President Muhammadu Buhari as he begins a 10-day private visit to the United Kingdom.

Buhari had on Thursday embarked on the trip to the UK. He is expected back to the country on May 5.

Prince Uche Secondus, the Chairman of the PDP, said that it was improper for Buhari to travel with public funds but fail to disclose his movements.

“The President is not travelling as an individual. He is travelling as the President of Nigeria who was elected by Nigerians in 2015 to lead them.

“The President should therefore open up and tell Nigerians his itinerary in the UK. Is he going on holiday? Is he going for medicals? Who are those who will be his guests there and where will he visit? Is he going on a short break?

4.Femi Falana, a Human Rights Lawyer, on Thursday in Lagos during the public lecture marking the 30th anniversary of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of disobeying court orders.

Falana said that he was planning to write to Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, to demand answers on why Buhari disobeys court orders.

“I just remember this morning trying to write a letter to the Attorney General of the Federation and I found, very painfully, that whereas the Buhari/Idiagbon regime complied with all court orders for the release of those who were held illegally under the state security detention of persons Decree No 2 of 1984, we cannot say the same today under a democratic government,” Falana who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), said (as seen on

5. Femi Gbajabiamila, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) anointed candidate for the position of Speaker in the next 9th Assembly, has taken his campaign to Saudi Arabia.

Report has it that the lawmaker who is observing the lesser Hajj is with over 50 members-elect in Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Dahiru Usman, an Islamic leader in the North, allegedly endorsed the lawmaker for the speakership position in Saudi.

“Renowned Islamic leader, Sheik Dahiru Usman, earlier today (Wednesday) endorsed and offered prayers for the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, as Speaker of the ninth Assembly,” Gbajabiamila’s aide, Olanrewaju Smart, said (as published on Naija Buzz).
