Good Morning Nigeria! Here are a few of what you need to know this Thursday morning 🙂. Enjoy!

1. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Wednesday expressed readiness to participate in Saturday’s APC governorship primary election. The governor who is reportedly having bad relationship with his political godfather, the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, is ready to test his popularity in the party against other governorship candidates of the ruling party , especially Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu who reportedly has the backing of Tinubu. His decision came following a meeting with the 22-man Governor Advisory Committee, the highest decision making body of the Lagos State Chapter of the APC. “As our great party approaches Saturday, September 29, 2018, earmarked for the direct primary election to choose the candidate to fly our party’s governorship flag at the next general elections, I am happy to reiterate my commitment to participate in that process having procured and submitted my nomination form and having formally declared my intention to seek a second term to continue on the path of unprecedented growth and development that our state has witnessed since 2015,” Ambode said.

2. Chief Olu Falae, one of the national leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has vehemently condemned the declaration of Senator Iyiola Omisore to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Thursday’s Osun State re-run election. Mr. Falae further pledged the party’s support to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, today. The spirit of national coalition remains and the spirit is that the SDP, PDP and others will unite to fight for the 2019 elections. Chief Falae called and talked to Senator Adeleke that the party did not authorise Omisore to support the APC. They said Omisore is on his own,” Adeleke’s aide, Olawale Rasheed, said.

3. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to show his zero tolerance for corruption by allowing an open investigation into the alleged N2.5billion scandal in which Mr. Sani Baban-Inna, Mrs. Aisha Buhari’s ADC, alleged defrauded her. “This scandal has further vindicated the stand of the PDP that President Buhari presides over a government of corruption, where his close relatives, officials and a cabal of associates are enmeshed in sleazy deals but parading as saints. It is instructive to note that the First Lady has already admitted that her detained security aide defrauded ‘unsuspecting associates and officials,’ a position which inadvertently exposes the attempt by the police to conceal the matter. Since the First Lady, in her statement, confessed that her security aide defrauded ‘unsuspecting associates and officials,’ the PDP demands that the aide should be promptly docked in an open court and given the opportunity to defend himself and expose his accomplices in the alleged fraud,” PDP said.

4. Abraham Obasanjo, the son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared his intention to support the second term ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari despite the vehement rejection of Buhari’s 2019 ambition by his father. Abraham in a letter to the Buhari Campaign Organisation noted that he was ready to work for the campaign organization to secure victory for the president in 2019. “Dear Sir, please find attached a statement of my public declaration and support for the 2019 second term re-election bid of our highly esteemed President Buhari. I have taken a personal decision to release the statement and to notify you of my availability to work for the re-election of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari with sincerity and loyalty,” he allegedly wrote.
