1. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has again insisted on Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila as its anointed candidates for the position of the 9th Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively.
The position of the ruling party was made known by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Lanre Issa-Onilu.
He further noted that the APC would not allow a repeat of what happened in 2015 which saw the emergence of Senate President Bukola Saraki and Hon. Yakubu Dogara as the leaders of the National Assembly against the party’s plan. More details on Naija Buzz
2. The Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa-led Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on Wednesday assured Nigerians and the world of its determination to ensure justice in all the petitions challenging the outcome of the February 23 Presidential Election.
The five-man panel includes; Justices Abdul Aboki (Abuja Division), Joseph Ikyegh (Benin Division), Samuel Oseji (Lagos Division), Justice Peter Ige (Abuja Division) and Zainab Bulkachuwa who is the President of the Court of Appeal.
“The independence of the judiciary is key to any vibrant democracy, especially in the resolution of election petitions,” Justice Bulkachuwa said while delivering her speech.

3. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Tuesday while speaking with journalists in Abuja said that the evil he feared in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has befallen him 10 times in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The evil I feared in the PDP has befallen me 10 times in the APC,” Okorocha said.
According to the governor, he had been afflicted with more evil in the ruling APC more than he would have suffered if he had been a member of the PDP.
Okorocha accused Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the APC, and other leaders of the party of working with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to destroy his senatorial ambition. Read More on Naija Buzz
4.Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has in his reaction to Governor Rochas Okorochas predicament in his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), told him to join the PDP.
He noted that the PDP “will always treat its members with respect and allow for robust debate on issues affecting the party and our members.”
“Unlike the APC that is owned and controlled by different cabals, the PDP is owned by the people and they are the ones that determine its present and its future. So, I will expect all those that are suffering and smiling, all those who have been beaten by rain and chased out of the party they formed and the house they built without a solid foundation to return to their natural abode where there is peace and tranquility,” he added.
