1. Report has it that the Federal Government has refused to pay a whistle-blower who exposed a secret account reportedly run by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The whistle-blower had approached Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, and informed him of the account with name; NNPC Brass LNG INV, with account number: 1750027157, with Skye Bank (Polaris Bank).

The whistle-blower had signed an agreement on June 14, 2018 with the AGF witnessed by Ladidi Mohammed, the Head of Asset Recovery and Management Unit that he will be paid 2.5% of the recovered some after 30 days of the recovery.

It’s been 11 months since then and nothing has been paid to the whistle-blower.

2. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Garba Shehu, an aide to President Buhari, reported Tinubu’s meeting with the president. He revealed that he met Buhari in Makkah at the breaking of Ramadan fast.

The presidential aide also revealed that the APC leader attacked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that the former ruling party were busy making saucy and distractive statements following their colossal defeat at the 2019 general elections.

“Don’t blame them. They are handicapped by the traumatic feelings of the colossal loss of the election,” Tinubu allegedly said in Saudi Arabia. “You should help them to manage the trauma,” he added. More on Naija Buzz

3. Governor Rochas Okorocha on Monday revealed that since his emergence he had spent N30billion on 30 general hospitals in Imo State. He built each of the hospitals with N1billion.

The governor made the revelation while leasing out some of the hospitals to churches and other organisations under Public Private Partnership agreement.

“While I congratulate you on the new general hospitals, I want to urge you to manage them well. I believe in Public Private Partnership arrangements because nothing has ever worked in the hands of government,” the governor said.

He further noted that his plan was to make the state the health tourist destination in the nation. Read More on Naija Buzz

4. A traditional ruler, Chief Paulinus Ogbor, has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for conspiring with one Onugh, a retired police officer, to steal 3 transformers belonging to Umuolo, Etana, Ubum, Edu, Ibini, Afono, Urugbam, Ipene and Egbor communities in Cross River State.

The monarch who is the ruler of Ipene in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State was apprehended with his accomplice around 11am on Friday while trying to move the transformer to where they were to be sold.

DSP Loveth Odah, the Public Relation Officer of the Ebonyi Police Command, confirmed that the 2 suspects were arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Army in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State. Read the story on Naija Buzz
