Good Morning Nigeria! Here are few stories you need to know this Tuesday morning????. Enjoy!

1.The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has fixed Wednesday for hearing of the appeal filed by Adegboyega Oyetola, the Governor of Osun State, and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the ruling of the State’s Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

The Tribunal had nullified the declaration of Oyetola as winner of the Osun election held in September 2018 and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue a fresh return certificate to Senate Ademola Adeleke, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

2.Senate President Bukola Saraki has replied Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), over his allegation that he padded national budgets since 2015.

Naija Buzz had published the statement issued by Tinubu on Sunday which accused the 8th Assembly under the leadership of Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara of padding the budget and including pet projects for their selfish gains.

Saraki however in his reply described Tinubu’s statement as careless, irresponsible and callous.

The Senate President in his statement issued through his aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said that; “In all the three budgets already passed by the National Assembly, we challenge Tinubu to make a specific reference to where  Saraki and the leadership of the National Assembly ‘sought to pad with pet projects’ as  he alleged.

“Tinubu should be graceful enough to substantiate this allegation. We consider that allegation careless, irresponsible and callous. We therefore demand that he withdraw it.” Read Saraki’s complete reply to Tinubu on Naija Buzz

3.Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad, the Chairman of the Zamfara Council of Chiefs, and Emir of Anja, has denied reports that he apologized to the Nigerian Air Force over its allegations that air strikes targeted at bandits were hitting innocent villagers.

Few days ago, certain reports in the media (not Naija Buzz) alleged that he had apologized to NAF over the statement.

He however stated that the report was baseless, adding that NAF had admitted to have mistakenly bombed the innocent villagers.

“I received an entourage led by Air Vice Marshall Idi Lubo, who was in the state to condole and sympathised with the entire people of the state over a mistake made by NAF that consumed innocent lives,” the Emir said.

4.Operatives of the Nigerian Army have reportedly arrested the traditional rulers of Doka and Mutu villages in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

They were arrested for allegedly leaking information to bandits. Soldiers also arrested 16 other suspected informants and errand men to the bandits.

The soldiers attached to Operation Harbin Kunama 3 also killed 6 bandits in Kirsa and Sunke villages located in Anka Local Government Area of the state following a gun battle.

Naija Buzz reports that dangerous weapons including AK-47 rifles were left behind by the fleeing bandits following fierce gun battle between the soldiers and the bandits that lasted over 2 hours.

5.Youths in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State on Monday protested against the alleged killing and raping of their wives by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

“How can they be raping our mothers, wives and sisters in our presence almost on a  daily basis? Enough is enough,” the protesters who carried placard said.

“We are just respecting Governor Obiano that is why we have not confronted these herdsmen.  If they continue what they are doing, we will confront them and it will be bloody and we’re sure at the end of the clash no herdsman will ever come to Anambra West again,” they added.
