1. Dr. Yemi Kale, Statiscian General and CEO of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), said that it will take a while before Nigerians starts feeling the impact of economic growth resulting from the country’s exit from recession. According to him, the structure of the economy which is still largely driven by oil is the reason why the positive growth rate will not make real impact.

2. A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Preye Aganaba, while addressing newsmen in Abuja said that the APC has no option but to field President Muhammadu Buhari as its candidate for the 2019 presidential elections. “So, I don’t think for now that the APC has any other choice than to re-elect President Buhari, though people are free to contest, nobody is stopping them, this is APC where we usually have free and fair primaries. The last Presidential primaries in Lagos, President Buhari won more than half of the votes.

3. The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) boasts that it would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming 2019 general elections. Speaking in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Samuel Nwanosike, said that; “With what we have seen so far, the 2019 general election will be a walkover against the APC. The PDP will win the election without saying much because Nigerians are aware that the APC has failed us.
