1. The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, on Thursday, at a meeting with the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund in Abuja, said that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may end the ongoing strike within one week.

2. The Lagos and Ogun State Chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have called for the expulsion of Senator Buruji Kashamu from the PDP. According to the South-West Chapters, the senator is involved in anti-party activities and antics meant to destroy the PDP.

3. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday accused the Federal Government of lying against the union. ASUU said that the statement to Nigerians by the government that it did not follow the due process and legal procedures of issuing a strike notice before embarking on the ongoing strike was a lie.

4. The President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the National House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, on Thursday visited President Muhammadu Buhari in London, United Kingdom.
