1. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the recent plan by the Federal Government to re-arrest the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Federal Government had approached an Abuja High Court to revoke the court bail granted to Kanu because he had violated them. However, according to the statement issued by Chief John Nwodo, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, he expressed sadness to know that an attorney general would display his bias without regarding the oath of office. He noted that Arewa Youths who made inciting statements were not arrested, but rather he looked the other way, adding that every Nigerian has fundamental human rights to freedom of movement and association. “It has just been brought to my notice that the Attorney-General of the Federation has approached the courts to incarcerate Nnamdi Kalu for flouting his bail conditions. “I am amazed that the distinguished attorney is prepared to contest the superiority of the provisions of the constitution on fundamental human rights of freedom of movement and freedom of association over an erroneous judicial proclamation violating those rights.
