The Theatre Commander for the Boko Haram operation in North-East Nigeria (Operation Lafiya Dole), Major General Lucky Irabor, said that the Nigerian troops arrested about 7,898 suspected Boko Haram terrorists mostly around the axis of Damboa, Kaga and parts of Yobe state and killed at least 48 of the terrorists in February.
“The total number of arrests made during the period under review was 7,898, which include women and some foreigners,” the General stated at a press conference on Wednesday.
General Irabor also noted that the military also lost about 22 soldiers including an officer in February, while 27 others who are currently receiving treatments sustained injuries mostly through explosion of improvised Explosive Devices by Boko Haram.
He also added that the military are currently inserch of three (3) missing soldiers.
The military also recovered large cache of arms from the Boko Haram terrorists in February, including about 301 motorcycles which the suspects uses to commit their evil agenda that were burnt and destroyed by the Nigerian troops.
