The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sanctioned Mr. David Adeleke (aka Davido) for allegedly violating camp rules during his mandatory 3-week orientation camp.

According to the NYSC, Davido’s participation in the 2018 Batch ‘B’ Stream II in Lagos has ended for absconding from NYSC camp.

“The NYSC was constrained to “dekit” Davido for violating the rules guiding conduct and activities in the camp. As a matter of fact, he absconded because he was away from the camp without permission. That prompted the Corps to issue him a query which was sent from Abuja. So, he is no longer a serving corps member,” (an undisclosed source told Punch).

He reportedly also violated many other rules and regulations of the Corps which included, bringing vehicle into the orientation camp, disclosing official information, engaging in private practice, taking part in partisan politics and reporting late for duty.

Davido had just two days after his registration at the NYSC camp traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, on his United States tour, which violates the law that mandated all corps members to participate in all activities in the camp.

Davido further visited Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, Georgia, Minnesota, London, Sao Tome, Accra, Mayotte, Lebanon, UAE and other nations during the time when he was supposed to be in camp.

The artiste also participated in the electioneering activities of his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in Osun State election.
