PDP candidate Emeka Ihedioha declared winner of Imo State Governorship election

Former Deputy Speaker of the National House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha

Emeka Ihedioha, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been declared winner of the Imo State Governorship election held on Saturday in the state.

Ihedioha, a former Deputy Speaker of the National House of Representatives, got 273,404 votes to defeat his closest rival, the candidate of the Action Alliance, Uche Nwosu, who got 190,364 votes.

Ifeanyi Ararume, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), got 114,676 votes while the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Hope Uzodinma, got 96,458 votes.
