Chinedu Nneji, the Commandant General of National Unity and Peace Corps, in a recent statement while addressing a press conference in Abuja said that the Nigerian Peace Corps bill will soon be passed by the National Assembly.
“The committee has mandated the Peace Corps of Nigeria and National Unity and Peace Corps to forward their respective nominal roll and the complete list of our members within 24 hours.
“It agreed that the bill is not owned by neither Peace Corps of Nigeria nor National Unity and Peace Corps, but agreed that it was an offshoot of both.
“It also resolved that Nigerian Peace Corps is owned by government and only the government will determine who leads the body when it eventually becomes a reality,” Nneji said
There have been controversies over who will lead the group between Mr.Nneji who is the Commandant-General of National Unity and Peace Corps and Dickson Akor, the Commandant General of Peace Corps of Nigeria.
