President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday approved an enhanced salary structure for the Nigeria Police Force.
This development was revealed in a statement issued by Mr. Femi Adesina, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President.
According to Buhari, his administration would continue to pay attention to the welfare and operational needs of the force.
He however expressed regrets over the inability of the police to perform their constitutional roles as frontline force in the prevention of crime. Buhari noted that an efficient police will ensure more confident by everyone in it.
“From Taraba to Sokoto, to the South-South, people don’t feel secure until they see the military.
“I am pleased to make the increase in salary and allowances in the hope that it will increase the performance index of the police and strengthen Nigeria’s internal security system,” he said.
