Buhari returns to Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari arrives Abuja this evening after spending over 100 days on medical leave in London, United Kingdom.

The President’s plane landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 4.36pm.

Yesterday at the front of the Abuja House in London, where Buhari was staying, Nigerians residing in the UK protested against him, demanding that he returns back to Nigeria or resign from office if he is not fit to continue.

Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the National House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, following their recent visit to President Buhari few days ago in London, stated that Mr. Buhari had recovered miraculously and he is expected back home any moment. He had also confirmed to his Media aides few weeks ago that he was better, but was waiting for his doctors permission to return back to Nigeria.

President Buhari who left Nigeria on May 7 due to his medical condition is expected to address the nation  in a broadcast at 7 a.m on Monday, August 21, 2017.
