Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, reportedly ordered the arrest of her Aide De Camp for defrauding her of about N2.5billion.

According to report (as seen on Premium Times), Sani Baba-Inna, a Chief Superintendent of Police, received huge donations from politicians and business people on her behalf and kept the money to himself.

Consequently, the President’s wife requested the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to arrest him and compel him to refund her money back.

Although Baba-Inna denied the allegation against him, he was however allegedly arrested and has being in detention since last Friday.

An undisclosed source who spoke to PT, said that the IGP ordered an immediate investigation into the matter and the residence of Mrs. Buhari’s ADC was also raided.

“Shockingly, investigators only found N1,200 cash in the House. His bank account was also investigated and had only a balance of N30,000 while the transaction records showed that most credits to the account were his salaries and allowances.”

Following investigations by the police, it was gathered that Mrs. Buhari must have been misinformed since there was nothing discovered to prove the allegation against him.

It was also reported that the police further contacted those who were named as donors of the funds but that they denied making such donations.

“For instance, one of those named was the IG of Police himself,” the source said (as seen on PT). “But the IG said he has never passed any money through Baba-Inna.”

It was also reported that Mrs. Buhari accused the police of colluding to protect one of their own after the details of the investigation was reported back to her.

She then asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to take over the case and recover her money back for her.

It was gathered that the DSS took over the case and reportedly also took Baba-Inna into their own custody.

Both the spokesmen for the Nigeria Police and the DSS, Mr. Jimoh Moshood and Peter Afunanya, have denied knowledge of the case when asked about the issue.

“I am not aware,” Mr. Moshood reportedly said.

“You are just telling me now, I am not aware, but if there is anything like that I will get back to you,” DSS spokesman, Afunanya, said.

The newspaper however noted that the wife of Mr. Baba-Inna, Mrs. Hassana, confirmed that her husband was arrested and incarcerated, adding that she has not been able to speak with him since he was taken away.
