President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling APC has defeated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP in the presidential election held in Niger State.
Buhari got 612,371 votes to defeat Atiku who got 218,052 votes.
Mrs. Angela Mary, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, who is the returning officer for the Presidential Election in the state, said that the total number of registered voters was 2,375,568 while the total number of accredited voters was 911,964 and the total number of votes cast was 896,976.
She added that the number of valid votes was 851,937 while 45,039 votes were rejected.
President Buhari won in all the 25 Local Government Areas in the state.
