1. Emeka Ojukwu Jr., the son of Biafra warlord late Chief Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), a party his father founded, for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

2. President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe and his family members have been placed under house arrest by the military. The country’s military took over power after his 37 years rule on Wednesday.

3. The Federal Government will reportedly spend about N4.86billion in 2018 for the maintenance of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. In the 2017 budget, N4.95billion was allocated for the maintenance of the villa. That has been apparently exhausted I suppose.

4. President Muhammadu Buhari in a recent statement at a state dinner organized in his honour at Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, said that he didn’t know many of his appointees and ministers as at the time he appointed them. According to him, he worked with the list he was provided, adding that his appointment was based on merit. “Some of the people holding high positions in the government, like my minister, will tell you that I didn’t know them from Adam.” He said
