The South-East Governors Forum in its response to the alleged invasion of the home of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Sunday, condemned the incident, adding that it is committed to ensuring that peace, political stability and economic prosperity is sustained in the region.
The Director of Information, South-East Governors Forum Secretariat, Mr. Mike Udah, said that the Governors in the region had already met with Kanu just to make sure that the agitation by Biafrans does not escalate.
He added that the recent invasion does not speak well on the unity of Nigeria.
“The South East Governors had held meetings in order that the agitations by Pro-Biafra groups do not escalate. The recent invasion of the home of Nnamdi Kanu does not speak well of the unity of the Nation. It is indeed worrisome. Meanwhile, efforts are being made by the Governors to meet and nip such development at the board” he told Vanguard
