Senator Ali Ndume, the former leader of the Senate, has been suspended for six (6) months.
Mr. Ndume had asked for investigation into the allegations on Senate President Bukola Saraki on the importation of a bullet proof Range Rover vehicle with fake documents.
The Senate decided to suspend the senator for 6 months on Wednesday after the resolution to uphold the recommendation of the committee on ethic and privileges chaired by Samuel Anyanwu that suggested one year suspension initially.
According to Anyanwu’s committee, Ndume failed to conduct proper investigation before making the allegations.
However, Mr. Ndume said that he did not make allegations against Saraki and Melaye but only raised issues he read in the newspapers.
It all went wrong for Senator Ndume after Senator Saraki and Senator Melaye were cleared of any wrongdoing in the Range Rovers and Certificate scandal respectively.
