Senator Akpabio says that the PDP, a party where he was governor for 8 years, has no vision. So he decided to join APC to salvage the nation

Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio meets APC Leader, Bola Tinubu

A former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), pledged to take the peoples of the state to the centre.

The former Senate Minority Leader at a mega rally held at the Ikot Ekpene township stadium, stated that he chose to join the APC because he discovered that President Muhammadu Buhari is a man of integrity and a nationalist.

According to him, APC would sweep away poverty and impunity and he wants to be among those who will salvage the nation.

“The country is at war and all the hands must be on deck to salvage the situation and not to aggravate it.

“As keepers of national emergency, everyone should put heads together. I decided to join to emancipate the people and provide succour for the people.’’

According to him, his former party, the PDP, where he was governor of the state for 8 years, has no vision and the leadership is replete with arrogance.
