1. A press release issued on Friday in Abuja by Mr. Salihu Isah, the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, revealed that the Federal Government has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja to revoke Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s bail, noting that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had breached his bail conditions. “The offence for which he is standing trial is not ordinarily bailable but due to the magnanimity of the court and its quest for justice and fairness, he was granted bail on health grounds. “Among the other conditions for his bail is that he should not be seen in a crowd exceeding 10 people and he should not grant any interviews, hold or attend any rallies. “And that he should file in court, medical updates of his health status every month. But rather than observing all of the conditions listed above, Kanu, in flagrant disobedience to the court order, flouted all conditions of the bail.”

Mr. Ayodele Fayose, the Governor of Ekiti State, said that he ignored the meeting with 36 state governors with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday because of his Chieftaincy title. He noted that he could not abandon his planned event because just to attend an impromptu meeting with the president. “For those insinuating that I shunned the president’s meeting with governors, I didn’t. I had my installation as Apesin of Ado Ekiti slated for today. “Guests were already in Ekiti since yesterday for the chieftaincy title installation before I received notice of the meeting with the President.
